These are the chronicles of a book addict, a photo junkie, and an aspiring author, rewriting the very fabric of reality one page (and one snapshot) at a time. From the strange to the unusual; the abandoned to the abnormal; the haunted to the historic; the supernatural to the surreal; the forests of dark fantasy, the cemeteries of gothic horror, and the post-apocalyptic ruins of science fiction are the landscapes of my imagination.

Good Night Dinosaur

Good Night Dinosaur - Adam Gamble, Mark Jasper While I have no intention of rating every book my son and I read before bed, this one deserved a mention. It's a board book for toddlers that doesn't dumb it down - there are no songs, no rhymes, and no cutesy names for the dinosaurs. If mom or dad get tongue tied by Argentinosaurus, so be it.

What's more, check out page 14 if you get a chance - yes, that's a very dead looking fish in the Plesiosaur's mouth . . . and, yes, that's a real cloud of blood floating away in the water. For some reason, that amount of detail in a kid's book just makes me smile.

At 2 years old, there aren't a lot of books my son will let me read from cover to cover without him trying to skip ahead, but this is one we end up reading 2 or 3 times a night.
